On tuesday night I returned to Mendon Ponds Park for the July version of the Run Our Trails Race. It took me 53:19 to finish the 5 miles of trails.
I went into this race nursing a bit of a knee injury and was wondering if I would be able to run at all. While I definitely did feel my knee throughout this course, it moved pretty well, and probably only cost me 30 seconds per mile on my finishing time.
The weather was looking great at race time, but had rained a lot in the morning so there were a number of muddy sections on the trail. I slowed down a bit for the mud, but probably would have had to even if my knee had been feeling better.
Assuming I can get past my injury my next race will be the Geneva Half Marathon on august 9th.
